The key functions of the role:

  • To assist Programme Manager in preparing quotations by reading engineering drawings for wiring harnesses and preparing Bills of Materials.
  • Obtaining quotations for parts and negotiating best prices and lead times from an approved supplier list.
  • Loading Bills of materials into MRP System once customer order received.
  • Creating new items within the MRP system as required.
  • Reading engineering drawings to work out manufacture details ahead of production.
  • Working with Build technicians during initial product build to create clear and concise standard operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Working cross-departmental to improve and support new product introduction projects.
  • Supporting production improvement projects making use of jigs and similar to improve and speed up the production process.
  • Updating manufacturing drawing to ensure all supporting notes and information is captured, supporting organisational learning.
  • Maintaining Bills of Materials to capture engineering changes, procurement or supplier changes, general updates, Bills of Materials maturity etc.
  • Carryout Bills of Materials audits in line with project milestones and build phases, in order to prevent shortages and maintain accurate material use costings.
  • Responsible for the robustness and completeness of information contained within the Bills of Materials.

Education / Experience / Attributes required:

  • A minimum of 1 years in a similar technical environment, ideally motorsport / automotive preferred
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and operating procedures preferred
